about ADOPTion

Honey’s Bunnies believes and advocates for indoor cage free living, with as much room to roam as possible. A bunny proofed room of their own or an x-pen is great for containing your bunny while you are not home to supervise, but ideally a bunny should be part of the family just like a dog or cat. Rabbits are extremely sociable animals, and they get lonely and bored when they are confined to a cage. To learn more about proper house bunny care, visit the House Rabbit Society website.

All of Honey’s Bunnies are spayed or neutered, litter box trained and receive all medical care needed prior to adoption. Adoption fee for a single rabbit is $80 and $100 for a bonded pair. This adoption fee goes directly back into our vet fund to help provide the necessary veterinary care need to more rabbits at the rescue.

All potential adoptions are done on a person to person basis. If the adoption is a match an adoption agreement must be signed, with the option to agree to a trial adoption.

He will need to be on a strict diet as he is a tad overweight ;) I suspect he's part Netherland Dwarf due to his little ears. Who couldn't love this little face?!

ADOPTED! Sweet Lil Kim aka Kimmy has been in rescue since June of last year. Her story started by being noticed in somebody's backyard, held in a tiny, filthy hutch, accompanied by one living cage mate and one deceased due to heat exhaustion, dehydration and starvation. 😞 An emergency rescue was made, and she was brought to Honey's Bunnies along with her cage mate. Exactly one week later, the pair surprised me with five very healthy babies! These five are now of course all grown up, and have all been adopted except for two (Primo and Teetoo). Her former cage mate, Joe, has also been adopted. Kim was always shy and has never really trusted people or even had luck getting along with other rabbits. Due to this, I placed her in a foster home for some extensive one-on-one bonding with a human caregiver, who also has her own house rabbits. I am very pleased to announce today, after months and months of work, I believe Kim is ready to find her new home! She has learned to trust her human, and she has even formed a relationship with one of her human's house bunnies. She has finally learned how to trust again! Her road has not been easy, and she will still require a very mindful adopter given her past issues with trust. But I am confident that she can find a perfect place. And as a side note, I will never give up on a bun, it just takes time, patience, understanding and love. They are all very sociable creatures, even if they have been conditioned to think otherwise, eventually they all come out of their shell once they feel trust.

Winston loves laying back on the couch and watching TV, and is ready to find his new mate. Winston is approx. 6 years old, and is used to being around cats, and friendly small dogs. He is used to having free-range of the house, with a nice space to call his own when he gets tired. He would preferably go to a home where he has free-run of the house! He is litter trained.

Dutchess is a calm, playful, and beautiful mama rabbit who has had one litter with us. She love attention and would love to find her forever home to settle down in now that her babies are grown up.

ADOPTED! The Professor was rescued from a less than ideal situation and arrived with a severe respiratory illness. After months of treatment and care, he is finally medically cleared and ready to start a new life. He is approximately 1 year old, neutered and sooooo sweet. At his new foster home he has decided he likes cats and discovered BINKIES!!!

ADOPTED! Scottie came to us in a very sorry state. He was found left in a duffle bag next to a lake and he was covered in ticks. After some treatment, love and a bit of time, he is now feeling great! Despite all the hardship this guy has gone through, he is one of, if not, the most friendly and loving bunny we have ever seen. His curiosity and his love have no limit!

ADOPTED! Precious was found in Cape Breton being attacked by a dog, he came to us with severe injuries to his head, fixed him up, he's all good now! Sweetest and friendliest bunny ever! Age unknown, we’re guessing under five years old. Recently neutered.

ADOPTED! David Suzuki is all ears! He is less than a year old, recently neutered and sooooo sweet! He is a large Flemish Giant who was found abandoned in Timberlea. This young man was born approximately in February 2022. He is extremely friendly and laid back!

ADOPTED! Say hello to Jean-Michel Cousteau! This lovely 8-9ish month old New Zealand white bunny came to me a few months ago, after being found outside with his siblings. He has had a lot of issues with his gastrointestinal system, but I think we are on top of it now! This guy is not allowed to have very many pellets, and so he is always looking for treats. But he loves his hay! He's also allowed to have fresh greens in moderation, and he lives for that! He's the sweetest little boy, and will be your best friend as long as you always have a little dandelion leaf or a piece of carrot top for him. Recently neutered, and looking for a forever home!

Very friendly and gentle rabbit. She is working on her litter box training, she should have it mastered soon as she is now spayed and her hormones won't make her feel the need to mark her territory everywhere ;)

ADOPTED! Gizmo is a sweet boy who has had his neuter surgery, and has been with us for quite a while. His personality is really starting to shine through, he's so chill! Can't wait to see where he ends up! He has an abnormality with his jaw but that doesn’t stop him from being such a lovely little bunny.

They are looking for a wonderful forever home! Bonded rabbits are great for people who feel like they don't have enough quality time to spend at home, so if you have to go to work or school during the day, no worries because a bonded pair will keep each other company! ADOPTED! Phoebe and Joey are two purebred Rex rabbits and are a wonderful bonded pair! They have been together for almost 2 years and are litter trained, and incredibly sweet! They are both under five years old and are looking forward to a life with a new family to share their love with!

ADOPTED! Scooter is a beautiful Flemish Giant with a luscious grey coat. He is a young boy, under 1 year. He was found outside with his siblings back in June of 2022. Scooter is exceptionally friendly and food motivated, a sweet gentlemen giant. 

ADOPTED! Barnaby is a petite multicoloured rabbit, also known as a Harlequin. He is age unknown as he was found wandering outside, but we suspect he is on the older side. Barnaby is extremely outgoing and friendly, and loves being petted!
